Not only will there be the precious metal gold in the upcoming 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Gold Medals, but a few gold winners will receive with medals that are embedded with shards of meteorite. The meteorite-imbedded medals will be presented to the winning athletes on February 15, 2014 – which is the one year-anniversary of the meteor strike in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk.
