Kids are as active as you are, maybe even more. But their nutrition requirements are different. So giving them an adult-size nutrition bar might be overkill, and push them over the daily recommended calorie and fat intakes for the day. Honey Stinger is addressing this need with Kids’ versions of their popular Organic Waffles and Organic Chews.
While we expect the line will be expanding over time, at Interbike we saw, and tried, the Kids’ Organic Waffles and Kids’ Organic Chews. These are actually downsized versions of Honey Stinger’s popular energy snacks. Right now Honey Stinger has Organic Honey Waffles and Organic Chocolate Waffles. Later this fall Honey Stinger will introduce Organic Mixed Berry (chews) and Organic Sour Citrus (chews). The waffles come in boxes with six waffles and offer 80 calories per serving. The energy chews are gluten free and vegetarian, come in 70 calorie servings and pack 80mg of sodium and 40mg potassium, valuable nutrients during a workout.
The new line is labeled for kids, but is not limited to kids. Many adults are kibitzing the smaller-sized packs of energy to get a boost without adding too many calories to the daily load.
