We’ve seen a few new “upcycled” bags recently, which make good use of old tubes and other materials. Timbuk2’s new bags aren’t using upcycled materials but they could instead power UP a device, as the bag maker has teamed up with Joey Energy.
The result is the new Power Commute messenger bag and Power Q backpack, which feature the Joey Energy T1 power supply that features a water-resistant case and corded satellite USB cable for charging. As soon as a device is plugged in the flow of juice is let loose so devices can power up while on the go. These bags don’t feature solar panels or other ways to power up however, so the Joey T1 needs to be juiced up before a user heads out.
But it could still be a good way to use a device and get it powered while on the go.
