Sylvester Stallone may have played Rocky Balboa but the Rocky S2V Provision ($600 MSPR) is a coat that his other signature character would likely wanted to have while evading authorities. This coat can shedding moisture during cold, snowy weather while keeping heat locked in – which no doubt John Rambo would have appreciated – but we think he’d have really liked the integrated survival kit that is included that will have wearer’s ready for just about anything.
Since this coat is meant for those who are off in the back woods it features the Ultimate Survival Technologies survival kit, a Survival Grenade and a Mountain Shepherd Wilderness Survival School guide. First up it is also a serious coat that is made from 20,000mm waterproof four-way stretch polyester. But then there are those goodies it holds inside.
Key components inside include a flashlight, compass, signal mirror, emergency blanket, medical kit, light stick, rescue whistle and even a razor saw – in other words, this is a coat that probably won’t pass most airport security sensors.
But that’s not all. There is also the “Grenade,” which includes firestarter, fishing hooks, blade, wire, needle and tin foil. There is even 10 feet of paracord attached to a carabiner, and the jacket’s powder skirt can double as a bright rescue signal. Clearly this coat does stuff that Rambo’s knife couldn’t do.
All this is tucked into purpose-designed internal and external pockets and clips that would this coat not only one Rambo might appreciate, but anyone who is looking for a coat that is equal parts Doctor Who and James Bond.
