If the shape of a snowboard wasn’t important to performance boards would probably look like flat – well boards! But shape is important, Colorado-based Venture Snowboards isn’t just going back to the drawing board, it is introducing its new experimental division, the Shape Shack, with the goal of coming up with odd yet funcation board designs that other companies haven’t thought of yet.
So far the company reportedly has two boards ready for launch, including the Euphoria, which is designed for essentially surfing on the powder and can thus be ridden with or even without bindings. As seen above it features a split-tailed design with rocker and reverse sidecut. The second board is the Zelix, which features a more traditional design with ea directional twin. The Euphoria will be available this season in 63.8 inches, while the Zelix is available in 62.2, 63.8 and 64.2 inch sizes, with prices ranging from $585 for solid versions of either board, or $895 for the Euphoria split.
Of course we’ll be watching to see what else might come out of the Shape Shack for next season!
