I’m planning for a day that combines work writing at my computer, yard work, and hopefully a workout somewhere in there. The pressure is on, and suddenly I realized that I’m starving. In the press to get going on my day, breakfast somehow got lost. By this time I realize that I need to grab something quick, and don’t have time to put any kind of breakfast together.
What do I reach for? Clif Bar Kit’s Organic Fruit + Nut Bar in Cashew. We wrote about these organic bars back in June, but I haven’t had a chance to try them yet. I’m impressed. I don’t always pick cashew as a flavor. I was surprised by how sweet the bar was. It’s a moist bar, and very palatable. There are very few ingredients: Organic dates, organic cashews, organic almonds, sea salt.
The bar has what appears to be a high fat content, and should be taken into account when you choose this bar. Out of 170 calories, 70 calories are from fat. That’s 8 grams, or 12 percent of the daily suggested rate. When you put nuts and some of the other (few) ingredients into the mix, you can’t avoid fat.
The Kit’s Organic bar is small, but filling. Now I’m ready to face the rest of the day.
