I was recently given the opportunity to try out the new Adidas AdiPure Trainer Toe Shoes and give my opinion on what I thought of them. So, I figured why not give it a go.
At first glance you can already see that it will be a new and interesting experience. I have never tried the minimalist toe style shoes in the past and was intrigued on how it would be. I pulled the shoes out of the cloth bag that they came in and was caught off guard by their red color and unusual toe design. I immediately took off my socks and slid the shoes on to my bare feet. I found it a little difficult, at first, to get all of my toes in to the areas of the shoes in which they belonged. But, once I did I found that they were very comfortable on my feet. It was almost like wearing gloves.
Trying them on is one thing. Running would be another.
That said, it was time for the real test, which involved going outside and taking them for a spin. Now, mind you, I am not really much of a runner so I knew this would be an interesting task in front of me. I decided it would be best for me to do a little interval training and decide if I like them. I started off at a slow walking pace. It almost feels like you are walking on nicely cushioned socks. I then picked up the pace. They were still feeling really good on my feet. I was actually very impressed with the results to this point. I then decided to take it to a slow jog and again was surprised by how good they still felt although you could definitely feel the hard pavement under your feet when at a full jog. Because of this I might suggest wearing toe socks for extra cushion when taking these shoes for any kind of a distance run.
For causal runs I find the Adidas AdiPure Trainer Toe Shoes to be an interesting alternative to your normal running or training shoes. Even though I found them to be a little uncomfortable when going at a full jog an experienced runner, who can stay on their toes, may not find that to be an issue. I definitely think they are a great shoe as far as overall comfort and design are concerned. So, do what I did and go out and give them a go. It is well worth it to be sure.
