Your body repairs itself when you sleep. So it may be the next evolution to squeeze into a pair of compression pajamas to speed recovery. Under Armour’s Men’s Recharge Energy Suit is a full-body compression suit that helps muscles recover. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps is said to wear the energy suit to sleep in when he trains or travels.
The Recharge Energy Suit is reminiscent of a union suit. But from our experience with compression garments including several pairs of socks, we’re sure it’s not quite as easy to put on. Under Armour says the suit aids recovery so the wearer experiences 50 percent less soreness, 50 percent less fatigue, and 30 percent more power after a workout or game.
The union suit is constructed with strategic compression the promotes muscle tissue repair. A four-way stretch fabric retains mobility. An anti-odor technology promotes growth of odor-causing microbes. The suit also has a moisture transport system that wicks sweat to keep you dry.
In the video posted on Yahoo, Michael Phelps talks about the benefits he’s experienced using recovery garments to sleep in. The garments shown in the video are two-piece suits, but the Recharge Energy Suit is apparently so popular it’s sold out on the Under Armour website.
