Hilton Hotels Asks: Yoga or Cardio?

Hilton just joined the race for in-room workouts. Hilton Hotels and Resorts is testing two workout rooms, a yoga-themed room and a cardio-themed room. The idea is to make it that much easier for guests, especially business travelers with busy schedules, to keep up their workout routines on the road.

Right now Hilton is testing the these two workout rooms in its Hilton McLean Tysons Corner and Hilton San Francisco Union Square locations, according to an article in USA Today. Yoga and cardio workout rooms will likely be rolled out to other locations if this test is successful.

The cardio room has a Precor Adaptive Motion Trainer in a special workout area. The designated area has specialty flooring, lighting, a mirror and a workout bench. The Precor Adaptive Motion Trainer simulates the workout benefits of an elliptical machine, treadmill and bike. Hilton is also including hand weights, resistance bands, a stretch mat and stability ball in the room. The minibar fridge also contains complimentary protein shakes.

The Yoga room also has a designated area to perform yoga. The special area has appropriate flooring, a full-length mirror and yoga accessories including a Jala mat, cork bricks, a stretch strap, foam roller and stability ball. All mats are sanitized daily, but Hilton also provides cleaning spray. Guests also get complimentary coconut water, which is stocked in the minibar fridge.

Both rooms have a king size bed.

Guests choosing to stay in the fitness rooms will have to pay a premium of about $30 or more. The Hilton will still maintain a gym in both and all locations, which doesn’t have a fee for use.

Hilton isn’t the first to offer in-room workouts. In January, TRYP by Windham and Westin hotels began offering similar services to guests at select hotels.
