Glo Bars Light the Night

Biking at night can be hazardous for riders and drivers alike, and there is no shortage of blinky lights, reflectors and even wearable attire that lights up. We’ve seen gloves with LED lights, vests that illuminate and even a wired light that can wrap around the frame.

And now we’ve heard about another approach that will truly let riders take back the night – the Glo-Bars, which can be installed on a commuter bike to ensure that you’re seen. Industrial designer Mitchell Silva created this unique bicycle illumination system with the hope that others will notice your presence on the road via the LEDs that emit a bright light, and can also provide a turn signal indicator. These reportedly contain 40 high-efficiency LED bulbs in an inner plastic tubing, and are powered by a watch battery. That’s certainly one way to light up the road at night!
