Music fuels workouts. But sometimes the cord from headphones gets in the way. On a run your arms swing and often come in contact with the cord and rip it out of your ear. The reason for this is too much slack in the cord, though shorter cords aren’t necessarily the answer, then you risk not having enough cord to accommodate your needs.
A new Kickstarter project, the CordCruncher Headphones, hopes to combat that by making a pair of headphones that has custom-fit adjustable cord. These earbud headphones have a sleeve over the cord. When pulled it cinches the cord into the sleeve to shorten the cable. When the earbuds are tugged, the cord comes out of the sleeve to add length. You can cinch up the cord when you’re wearing it so there’s no loose wire to catch on your arms or passing objects. The other benefit is that you can cinch up the cable into the sleeve to more easily store or carry the earbud headphones when not in use. In the demo video one person wears the sleeve as a bracelet. Even tossed in a bag you’re going to keep the headphones in tact instead of pulling out the earbuds and a mess of knots.
To date the CordCruncher Kickstarter project has 145 backers and has raised over $5,000 to meet its $20,000 goal to start production. A pledge of $20 gets you a pair of CordCruncher Headphones.
