In response to consumer demand for the versatility of more gears, Brooklyn Cruiser recently unveiled two new 3-speed models at the New Amsterdam Bicycle Show at Skylight Soho in Manhattan.
The men’s Driggs 3 and women’s Willow 3 models are equipped with a Sturmey Archer 3-speed hub and grip shifter, delivering ease of operation and a virtually maintenance-free drive train. A front lever brake assists the coaster brake hub. Like their immensely popular two-speed predecessors, they offer the strength of a steel frame and 36-hole double walled wheels, the comfort of a pre-conditioned leather saddle with dual springs and a swept back handlebar, and the convenience of a chain guard, a center mount kickstand, and fenders.
Inspired by the simplicity of Dutch bikes seen throughout Europe, the Brooklyn Cruiser models are also extremely stylish. A unique double top tube design is complimented by cream colored tires and a color-matched luggage rack. Both men’s and women’s models are offered in black, ivory, and tangerine. The women’s model is also offered in Columbia blue.
The new 3-speed models will retail for $549. They are available at select retailers. Bikes ordered online are shipped 90% assembled, and buyers may view an assembly video from the order page.
