Superline Drive to Hook the Big Fish

There are probably old time fishermen that will tell you that a long stick, a length of string and a bent pin are all you need to catch the big fish. For the rest of us technology has come a long ways, and Rapala proves that innovation has changed the odds to make sure the big one doesn’t get away.

First up, it all starts with the Sufix 832 Advanced Superline, the new go-to line for freshwater and saltwater anglers, as it offers strength and smoothness that can defy rocks, stumps, tress and thick weeds. Sufix 832 earned the sport fishing industry’s Best Line Award at the 2010 ICAST trade show, and won the Field & Stream Best of the Best Award in the Lure and Accessory category for 2011.

But it isn’t just casting a good line. You need to actually hook the big ones too, and Rapala’s VMC line, the industry’s “experts on hooks,” offers its new SpinShot hook – which was honored with the Best Terminal Tackle Award at this year’s ICAST, the world’s largest fishing tackle trade show. The VMC SpinShot incorporates a light, but super-resistant, high-carbon steel black nickel spinning system into its premium VMC drop shot hook. Forged with Vanadium steel that melds the perfect balance of lightness and resistance, the hook system features a nimble swiveling wire structure that guarantees 100 percent free, 360-degree rotation of the hook with any size lure attached. The rest of course is still finding that special fishing hole.
