Keep Your iPhone Secure in Action with Quad Lock

On the bike, your smartphone isn’t just a communication device, many apps turn it into a cycling computer. But it’s difficult to see the readouts from the screen if you have your phone in a back pocket or pouch. Australian start-up Annex Products has a Quad Lock case and mount that solves that problem.

Annex created a mount that attaches to any wall or surface with an additional bar mount that fits on most bicycle handlebars or stems for secure operation. The mount fits into the receptacle on the backside of the companion case and secures the phone. While the wall mount has a turn-and-lock and turn-and-unlock mechanism, the bicycle mount requires the user to pull down on the mount to disengage. This ensures your iPhone doesn’t go flying when you catch some air.

The Quad Lock case and mount are made from a tough polycarbonate plastic that stands up to a beating. The locking mechanism on the back of the case adds a little bit to the thickness of the phone, but is minimal compared to some other options. This allows you to mount your phone to a bike, wall, dashboard, shopping cart or other surface without having to remove the phone from one case and put it into another to fit in the mount.

Quad Lock is a Kickstarter project. The company has packages that range from $25 for an iPhone case with two wall mounts to $80 for an iPhone case, two wall mounts and bicycle mount kit. Our one complaint is that the product is only for the iPhone, but we’re sure there will be a solution for a handful of Android models once production kicks into high gear.
