After waiting so long to get an iPhone, Verizon subscribers want to protect their new phone like it’s precious cargo. That doesn’t mean they’ll leave it at home when they go on adventures such as rock climbing, biking or running. I just means they need a really rugged, protective case.
Ballistic, the designers of rugged cases for mobile phones and other accessory cases to “survive life,” just released its case for the iPhone 4 for Verzon and boasts it’s the most rugged protective case currently available for the iPhone 4.
The case is made of five layers of protection:
- Layer 1: Inner rubber for protecting your phone’s finish and drop/shock.
- Layer 2: Rigid structural frame.
- Layer 3: Outer shock absorption rubber.
- Layer 4: Removable outer silicone rubber shock-absorption layer with connector plug/seals.
- Layer 5: Durable screen protector.
The removable layer 4 works to adjust how much protection you need. If you’re going to the store or out for a casual walk or run, you can take the case without the extra layer and get enough protection. If you’re setting out on a hike or going rock climbing and still want to take your phone, you probably want a little more protection for your iPhone.
