- Montague’s Boston Single Speed Folding Bicycle
Folding bicycle manufacturer Montague Cycles has announced a new line of 700c road bikes, including its first ever full-sized single speed. The Boston model includes a flip-flop hub, allowing to transform the bike from a traditional free-wheel single speed to a track ready “fixie.”
It features a 42x16t drivetrain, which is considered ideal gearing for city riding. Designed more for the urban canyons than off-road, this bike still offers the durability that has become a Montague signature. The Boston model features the Cliz quick release and the company’s patented folding system, which allows for a conversion from full-sized ride to trunk-worthy bike in just about 20 seconds.
The Boson is available now (MSRP: $769.00), and this 24lbs bike in 19-inch frames (5’3″ to 5’10” riders) as well as 21-inch frames (5’11” to 6’4″ riders).
The company has also introduced a full lineup of folding road machines including the Crosstown, the Navigator and the FIT, all of which feature a completely new frame design that is built around road cycling.

The Crosstown – You won’t worry about crosstown traffic as you dash through traffic with this 7-speed folding cruiser, which will get you from point A to point B and let you look good getting there. It features the new Octagon Steering System, allowing the handle bar height to be adjusted with the simple click of a button. It is available in 17-inch, 19-inch and 21-inch frame sizes, and weights in at around 27-pounds. (MSRP: $659.00)
The Navigator – Available in 19-inch and 21-inch frame sizes this bike is built for the daily commute and for weekend riding. It features 700c tires and the Octagon Steering System. It features fenders to keep the street grim from dirtying your clothing or otherwise ruining the commuting experience. As with the other Montague bikes, this one can fold up in less than 20 seconds so instead of locking your bike up you can stash it under your desk and have true piece of mind! The 27-speeds will make commuting easy enough that you don’t need to break a sweat. (MSRP: $989.00)
The FIT – This 27-speed high performance folding road bike is available in 19-inch (5’3″ to 5’10” riders) and 21-inch (5’11” to 6’4″ riders). frame sizes, features the Octagon Steering System and can fold up in just 20 seconds, making it ideal for the daily commute, weekend rides or just about anytime the road calls out. The FIT weighs in at just 26 pounds, and is a bike that should let you live up to its name. (MSRP: $1,299.00).
