Two fitness challenges will push the health agenda at CES 2011 for health insurance agency UnitedHealth Group. Participants will compete for an iPad and Xbox 360 with Kinect over the course of the conference running from January 6-9.
Register for one of two fitness challenges at booth Space #3027 on the lower level of North Hall.
OptumizeMe Walking Challenge – The first 750 people to register will receive pedometers, and their steps will be tracked January 7-8. The person with the most steps logged at CES in those two days will receive a brand new iPad 16GB. CES requires a lot of walking to see all the booths. The goal of winning an iPad may keep you going. Windows Phone 7 users will also have the opportunity to challenge fellow contestants by using the OptumizeMe app created by UnitedHealth’s OptumHealth business. The OptumizeMe app will allow users to create and challenge others to fitness competitions.
Do You Hula? Challenge – Visitors to the UnitedHealth Group will get a chance to show off their hula hoop skills and compete for a prize using the Xbox 360 with Kinect and the YourShape Fitness game.
Winners for both competitions will be announced on January 8.
UnitedHealth Group plans to showcase other mobile device applications and health-enabling consumer technologies. “By harnessing technology that people use in their everyday lives, such as smartphone applications and web-based video chat, UnitedHealth Group is able to promote healthy lifestyles and exercise to help combat obesity and slow the spread of diabetes and prediabetes,” said a company statement.
