OGIO Goes to Gotham

We heard about OGIO’s Gotham line of golf bags earlier this year. These were unveiled in January at the PGA 2014 Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla., the Stand Bag and Cart Bag feature OGIO’s cutting-edge, revolutionary design and technology. The bags are now arriving at retail and you don’t need to be Batman to pick one up.

“There is a lot more to golf than driving for show and putting for dough; golfers today want to represent ‘their look’,” commented Tom Gocke, OGIO’s Global Golf VP. “Combined with a proprietary blend of exotic water, stain repellent fabrics and evolutionary construction techniques, the Gotham golf bag collection delivers a head turning appearance with a feather-light feel.”

The bag collection reduces the zippers to make for a sleek design, while it offers six interior protected pockets for easy access to balls, tees, valuables and any additional golf gear. And yet this bag weights less than four pounds and features OGIO’s four point-strap system and 7-way Holster performance top with side putter pit. We noted this could appeal to a particular caped crusader when we first heard about the bag. If Batman were going to play golf we’d expect him to have some super hero worthy golf bag and the Gotham golf bag collection might just be it. And yeah, we think Robin would make one good caddy.

PGA 2014 Merchandise Show: It’s In the Bag

Batman likely doesn’t have time for golfing – you know with all that crime fighting stuff he does. Alter ego Bruce Wayne probably does swing a bit, at least to keep up appearances. Either way OGIO has just the bag for billionaire crime-fighting playboys.

Introduced last week at the PGA 2014 Merchandise Show in Orlando the OGIO Gotham golf bag collection features both stand and cart bags, which combine a proprietary blend of fabrics and construction techniques that will make every golfer feel like a superhero.

The Gotham includes innovative speed zippers for easy access to balls and tees, and creatively placed internal storage compartments (something we suspect a crime fighter might appreciate). The Gotham collection also features OGIO’s four point-strap system for the ultimate in carrying comfort – because not everyone has the strength of a superhero.

PGA 2014 Merchandise Show: OGIO’s New Shoe

This week at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando OGIO is expanding its line of golf apparel with the introduction of its highly-anticipated footwear. Available in four models the line includes the Race, City Spiked, City Turf and Sport shoes, which each have unique design elements to address golfers’ needs.

The company noted that it looks to deliver three crucial features including style, comfort and performance. The design of each shoe is made to stabilize a golfer’s swing platform and improve balance to enhance the game. OGIO Brings Out Lady Line of Golf Bags for 2014

OGIO has announced its colorful new line of golf bags for women for next year. the 2014 Women’s collection combine feminine color palettes and energetic patterns with the innovative features for golfers. With names such as Duchess and Diva Luxe it does seem like this is very much a lady’s game.

The Majestic cart bag features seven zippered pockets and ZBP, a zipperless ball pocket. This sleek bag comes in two trendy designs featuring polka dots and geometric shapes. Forget the Water Hazards

While a water hazard is part of the game of golf, rain can be a hazard to the golf clubs. The OGIO Aquatech Golf Bag is designed to protect the clubs. It features a fleece-lined, waterproof valuables pocket with mobile phone sleeve along with thermo-welded waterproof pockets for the clubs. And yet it is made of lightweight fabric so this doesn’t bog down wet or dry. There is even a rain hood included.

BMW Partners with Puma, OGIO On Athletics Collection

BMW’s vehicles may be out of reach for most people, but its latest offering is bit more accessible for the rest of us. The German automaker is launching a new line of BMW-branded athletic and lifestyle apparel aimed at what they refer to as “ambitious amateur athletes” (perhaps something was lost in translation from the German). The BMW Athletics Collection comprises of running shoes, performance clothing, and accessories, and joins BMW’s Golfsport, Yachtsport, and Motorsport collections.

The running shoes were created with Puma. According to BMW, “the running shoes are designed for any kind of wear. They provide optimal comfort and support whether you’re working out in the gym or running. Their features include breathable sandwich mesh, shock absorption, and comfort-last technology for a perfect fit. The collection also includes retro lifestyle sneakers, which convey a love of sport away from the training ground too.”

The shirts, hoodies, jackets, pants, and other clothing items were also made with Puma. Every item has silver reflectors as added safety when used after dark. “The softshell jackets are windproof, breathable and feature clever details like sleeve pockets for MP3 players. The hoodies are designed to offer maximum comfort during training and are ideal for couples who like to train together in style, with a royal blue hoodie for men and a light blue version for women.”

For the sports bags, BMW teamed up with OGIO. The collection includes a duffle bag, a backpack, and a triathlon bag that has ventilated compartments for shoes and damp clothing, insulated pockets for drinks bottles, and a cushioned compartment for safely storing items such as mobile phones (the triathlon bag can be converted into a backpack).

BMW says the new gear will be available at selected BMW dealerships and at www.bmw-shop.com, although there’s no word if they’ll be available stateside or at Puma stores. While you may not be able to buy that new redesigned 3-series, you can at least live the BMW lifestyle and pretend you own one while you’re out jogging or at the gym.

OGIO Designer Bags Goes for Endurance

Designer sports bag and apparel company OGIO just released its OGIO Endurance Collection. The line has bags that address the needs runners, swimmers, triathletes, cyclists, downhill mountain bikers and other athletes in endurance sports and competitions.

The seven-bag line is built to provide organization, protection and comfort for athletes taking part in high-intensity workouts and competitions. The line is made with lightweight yet sturdy materials that protect gear, yet make it light enough to carry to a race or location to workout.
