The 4th of July means many things to many Americans. For some, it’s the official kick-off to a much-needed summer vacation with family. And for others, it’s about watching a small-town parade or celebrating with a patriotic fireworks show. As a veteran-owned company with its roots in protecting American soldiers, Wiley X, Inc. reminds all Americans to keep the focus this July 4th on the true meaning of the Holiday – the precious gift of independence.

When we gather to celebrate our nation’s independence, we honor our great country’s past, present and future. We recognize the many who sacrificed to bring us independence, as well as those Americans who serve today to protect it,” added Freeman.

Once again our friends at Wiley X are stepping up in their call to all Americans to pause this May 28 to remember what Memorial Day is all about — honoring the memory of the countlesss brave men and women who have given their lives to preserve our freedoms and way of life. As a veteran-owned company that has built its legacy providing state-of-the-art protective eyewear to combat soldiers in action around the world, Wiley X is keenly aware of the sacrifices our fighting forces make every day. This includes the ultimate sacrifice that an estimated 1.2 million Americans have made dating back to the Revolutionary War that gave birth to our great nation.
This week tactical and sport sunglass maker Wiley X announced that for the third year in a row the company would donate proceeds from the sale of its Lacey Sunglasses to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Thrroughout 2012, Wiley X will donate $3 from the sale of each polarized or non-polarized Lacey model to support the efforts of this long-standing and proven charitable organization.
Today is Veterans Day, which was established after the end of the First World War. It is a day for our nation to recognize the service and sacrifice of the millions of American veterans who have served their country at home and aboard. Wiley X, a veteran-owned company with a quarter century of tradition providing ballistic eye protection to U.S. soldiers throughout the world, wants to remind all Americans not to forget the true meaning behind this important day. And we want to help them spread the word.
