Skater’s Car Rack

Lacey Carlson of Provo, Utah had another idea and is looking to Kickstarter to help produce the Longboard/Skateboard car rack, which can help organize two or three boards and reduce the clutter. At the recent SIA Snow Show Light Bohrd showed off its lighted snowboard, but now comes word that the company is also introducing a lighted skateboard. This is a bright idea especially for skaters who look to hit the streets after the sun goes down. The Urban Commuter Longboard is made in Texas and will riders to make a statement while being seen.

Snap Skateboard Goes Long

Earlier this year we heard about the SNAP Skateboard, the world’s first folding skateboard. Now the company has gone long by introducing a longboard version. The folding ability makes carrying a longboard – which can range from 38- to 44-inches – a little easier. It features four high-strength hinges that fasten to the deck and allow the board to folds to just 19-inches, so it can be stashed in a backpack or gym bag.

No Long Way Down For Long Boarders

Wes Sampson knows as well as anyone what goes up, must come down. And if the veteran longboarder has his way he’ll come down very fast. He’s the organizer of this weekend’s upcoming Mount Washington Downhill Race in Comox, British Columbia, and if all goes as planned he hopes to break the International Gravity Sports Association downhill skateboarding world speed record of 113.02 km/h.

Unlike traditional skateboards, this race is essentially like street luge, but standing up. Thus this can be a serious deal, and Canada.com reported that one longboarder lost year life just last month while riding down Mt. Seymour Road in North Vancouver.
