There are rugged devices and then there are truly rugged, will survive the end of the world rugged. For most people the latter is a bit overkill. That’s why GammaTech at CES this week introduced its semi-rugged yet ultra-mobile tablet PC (UMPC), the Durabook Model CA10.
This device still looks like it could stand up to a serious adventure, and it features a 10.1-inch TFT LCD display with resistive multi-touch screen panel. It meets the Military Standard 810G and IP43 standard for drop, shock, dust and water resistance, while also offering hot swappable dual-battery design with up to eight hours of power.
