We’ve seen a lot of helmet cameras but now we’ve seen the first truce camera helmet – as in a helmet designed specifically to be used with a helmet-mounted camera. Now the first thing to keep in mind is that many bicycle race organizations have banned the use of helmet-mounted cameras, and some cycling groups recommend mounting the camera somewhere besides a helmet as the gadget can actually cause head and neck injury in a crash.

New GoPro Bundle Gives Hero Cams WiFi and Remote Capabilities

Looking for new ways to use your GoPro Hero camera? The company’s new WiFi BacPac + WiFi Remote bundle is designed to give your camera remote and WiFi capabilities, all with a simple upgrade.

The WiFi BacPac is a small module that attaches to the back of your existing Hero camera giving it WiFi capabilities. The companion dual-button remote (which is both weatherproof and wearable) then lets you control the BacPac-equipped Hero from a range of up to 600 feet. Floating the GoPro

The GoPro HERO camera can handle great depths underwater, but if you should drop it while in the water you might have to dive for it. If you have a super submarine like the one James Cameron has invented that might not be a problem – but for the rest of us a camera headed to the bottom of the ocean is one we likely won’t see again.

Catch the Drift HD-170 Actioncam

In the past couple of years the helmet-mountable GoPro HERO HD camera has caught a lot of attention, but now Drift Innovation is looking to turn heads with a smaller version of its HD-170, making for the former model’s shortcomings.

The new Drift HD features a swiveling 170-degree lens, and is actually sleeker than the previous models, and it already seems less bulky than the GoPro. The Drift HD features a color LCD screen, wireless start/stop remote control, manual iris option and offers full HD 1080p resolution. In addition there is an external 2.5mm mic port.

The new Drift HD also goes a step further than the GoPro offering replaceable lenses, which could come in very handy for those who like to risk life and limb getting the perfect shot. This camera can also do double duty and take 9megapixel still images, supports microSD cards up to 32GB, and is compatible with PCs and Macs. The Drift HD will be available at the end of the month (MSRP $369). This is a drift that those looking to chronicle their activities will want to catch.
