Nike Golf’s Covert Ops

With a name like Global Innovation Summit we’d expect something big. This technology and design-themed event was actually held by Nike, proving that the world of fitness and sporting goods continues to look to innovate! One of the big things to come out of this week’s even was the introduce of Nike Golf’s first high-speed cavity back technology in a driver that conforms to USGA and R&A Rules.

The result is the VR_S Covert, which offers three proprietary technology platforms including high speed cavity back, FlexLoft adjustability and NexCor face. This offers the promise to create unprecedented distance, control and forgiveness. The club will be ready to tee off in February, and we expect nothing covert about its launch or driving abilities.

Nike Golf Looks to New Method Technology

If you can’t bring down the strokes in your game perhaps it is time to try a new method, or at least give Nike Golf’s Method technology a try on the green. The Nike Method Core Weighted putter is the newest edition to the Method-franchise and it utilizes fixed weights on the heels and sole of the putter to provide proper weighting by putter length.

This works to lower the center of gravity as well as to move the center of gravity away from the face. The idea is to solve the potential putting inconsistency to get the center of gravity lower than the ball, which enables the golfer to rise the putter on impact. The Nike Method technology further utilizes a milled face and Polymetal Grooves for more true and consistent rolls to keep the ball on target! Then gravity can do the rest.

Nextbelt is the Belt for Golfers

Sometimes the simple things are what people tend not to see or think about. That is sort of the idea of the Nextbelt, a belt designed to hold up a golfer’s pants but which has no holes. The Go-In! Golf series belt instead provides golfers with minimum adjustment by providing the wearer an adjustment pattern of ¼ inch as opposed to pin/buckle at every inch. This allows for a better fitting belt, and while it might not take strokes off the game, it will reportedly make for a bet fit for those getting in the swing of things. Video after the jump

These shoes are waterproof and flexible, and come with a 90 day comfort guarantee.

Since most courses probably won’t let you golf barefoot this might just be the next best thing.

Personalize Your Golf Ball so Some Super Spy Doesn’t Ruin Your Game

Remember that scene in the film Goldfinger where James Bond switched golf balls with the villain on the course? Goldfinger cheated, but Bond switched the balls and in the end made his gold-loving nemesis look stupid. That’s because Goldfinger didn’t personalize his ball enough.

The Golf Ball Personalizer is a stainless-steel imprinting tool that allows golfers to affix up to three initials with a mere squeeze – something we think Oddjob could have easy handled. Continue reading Personalize Your Golf Ball so Some Super Spy Doesn’t Ruin Your Game
