Casio Mud Resistant Watch

Plenty of watches claim to be water resistant and shock proof, but the Casio G-Shock Mudman G9300-1 looks like it could be ready for the end of civilization, and promises to be the last watch ticking. It is water resistant, shock resistant and can endure mud. Lots of mud!

The internals are protected in a hard plastic and steel casing that makes it waterproof to 200 meters, so it can get wet, dirty and endure the outdoors about as well as any sports watch. It offers a digital compass, thermometer, moon graph, full auto calendar with 12/24 hour formats, and even features 1/100 second stopwatch. At $200 it is a true value, especially for the last watch you might need to buy.

More Shock from Casio

Earlier this week we noted that Casio has a limited edition G-Shock watch for those who want to add a little style to their wrists while on the go. Now Casio is offering a few more options with its G-Shock line, including connectivity to mobile smartphones.

The G-Shock GB-6900 series, which will arrive early this year, will feature Bluetooth LE connectivity and can be paired with select Android smartphones, including the upcoming NEC Medias LTE N-04D and NEC Medias PP N-0ID. This won’t unfortunately transform the rugged time pieces into fitness watches, but it will show incoming calls, emails and text messages on the display – something that can be handy while hiking, cycling or otherwise on the go.

The phones are set to arrive in Japan in March, and hopefully will arrive stateside soon after.
