SHOT Show: Wiley X Changes Up

Wiley-XOur friends at Wiley X are changing it up again with their Changeable Series eyewear family for hunting and shooting enthusiasts. The new style is making its debut at SHOT Show this week in Las Vegas. Designed to be comfortable for all-day wear during even the most strenuous outdoor activities the WX Vapor features an ultra-lightweight, double injected frame that provides increased comfort by reducing pressure on the nose of the bridge and ears.

The eyewear system is thus perfect for shooting sports, and it meets the stringent ANSI Z87 High Velocity and High Mass Impact Safety standards, providing occupational grade protection. As a member of Wiley X’s battle-proven Changeable Series, the WX Vapor also meets the updated MIL-PRF-32432 (GL) MCEP Standard (superseding the GL-PD 10-12 MCEP Standard) for ballistic eye protection and EN-166FT for high velocity impact standards at temperature extremes. It also offers 100 percent UVA/UVB protection and distortion-free clarity.

Wiley X Changeable Series protective eyewear is designed so wearers can easily switch lenses, for optimum vision and accuracy in changing light conditions, situations and environments. The new WX Vapor is offered in four configurations. Shooters can choose a Matte Black Frame packaged with changeable Grey and Clear lenses or changeable Grey, Clear and Light Rust lenses. A Tan Frame is also offered paired with changeable Grey and Clear lenses or changeable Grey, Clear and Light Rust lenses.

Google X Glasses on the Way?

Google has many eyeballs on its search engine, as well as eyeballs on its mobile Android OS and of course eyes on the Google Chrome browser. Now it seems Google may be looking to get eyes looking through sporty looking eyewear too. Rumors have been circulating that Google Glasses could be on the way, offering an HUD screen on one lens to see a miniature screen, and earbuds to listen to music and make calls.

While not exactly designed for sports, these could offer benefits the in future for athletes, providing speed, calories and other information directly to the glasses so eyes are never off the road (or in many cases the prize). Let’s just hope people don’t think they can watch a bike race while out on a ride with these!

Hands On: Flash Shopping Site The Clymb

While some of you don’t need an introduction to flash shopping sites, I think it’s required here. Over the past few years flash shopping sites have emerged to bring the “sample sale” experience to online shoppers. They generally focus on an area of luxury goods such as fashion, home goods and home décor. Shoppers generally have to subscribe to be granted entry to the site, and get email notifications listing the sales each day. These sales, like sample sales, are for a limited time of about two or three days, and the site might host three or 12 sales from different designers or manufacturers on any given day.
