Horses have an advantage over donkeys – girls like ponies and horse race is the sport of kings. But donkeys are beasts of burden, and just a step up the chain gang from mules. Horses may be good for riding but donkeys are the preferred choice for hauling goods.
This no doubt is what inspired the makers of the Donky Bike – and yes they dropped the “e” in donkey but we don’t know why. What we do know is that the bike looks to be smaller than the average two-wheeled hauler. It is designed to handle well in traffic, but still durable when it comes to hauling goods. It features a unique design that includes two removable racks, one in the front and one in the rear. This puts the design puts the load in the front over the frame not the fork so steering and handling isn’t affected.
The bike features 20-inch BMX wheels, V-brakes, a single piece crankset and 3-speed internal Shimano Nexus hub. This means there is little that can go wrong or be stolen. Since a donkey is something known as an “ass” we’d say this one is a smart ass or one haulin’ ass indeed! Video after the jump
