Kinomap Trainer has just announced a major update of its app, which key features including new equipment configuration page, search by location on a map, new Facebook connectivity and even Apple TV/HDMI display mode within the map.
We first heard about Kinomap back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, and this cycling and running training app lets you hit the road from the gym or living room offering, while sharing of routes with users remains key. There was no shortage of rugged cameras at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. From Olympus it wasn’t just rugged, it was tough, as in the Tough TG-320, the latest in the company’s line of go anywhere cameras. This one is ideal for the budget conscious, as it will cost just $179.99 when it arrives later this year.
At last week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas we saw a lot of waterproof devices, and accessories to protect from a few spills – liquid or otherwise. But then there was Liquid Image that introduced products that were anything but all wet. And while not designed for the water, these sports tech products did make us take notice.
While traveling, or even just a day by the pool, many a bad thing can happen to your electronics. At CES this year Vivick showed off some of its products to help make sure that these will survive a few spills or other dangers. Among these was the Vivick Aqua Guard for the iPad 2, which features a triple-layer waterproof seal, provides viewing of the device through a transparent window and offers protection from water, sand and snow.

At the Consumer Electronics Show Iqua Ltd. got into the rhythm with its new Iqua Beat training solution for iPhone. The company, which is a designer of hands free headsets has launched the new Bluetooth stereo headset and iPhone app for the North American market.
There is something to be said to turning water into wine, and a whole industry exists to do just that (with a little help from grapes and time), but Swedish fuel cell pioneers myFC has introduced the world’s first portable fuel cell charger that runs on just ordinary water. With PowerTrekk just add water and you’ll never run out power again, making this an excellent way to juice over your mobile devices when an outlet isn’t available. And best of all it something you can use when the sun isn’t shining.
This week at the Consumer Electronics Show Magellan announced it was switching things up, and is entering the fitness market with the launch of its first two products, the Switch and Switch Up. These new series promises to be powerful, adaptable, and customizable for those looking for GPS watches that can meet the needs of runners, cyclists, and multisport athletes. And with a Magellan fitness website and third-party integration, users can easily analyze and share their activities.
What do we know about the gobandit digital camcorder? Not much, but the CES teaser said to “Get ready for something new,” and promised readers: “Now you can shoot, show and share much more than a video clip. gobandit captures experience more detailed than ever. Full HD, GPS, acceleration sensor, gyroscope and 150° wide angel show you more than words could ever tell.”
If the holidays weren’t stressful enough for us we have the Consumer Electronics Show to look forward to – just one of several trade shows that is happening over the next few weeks. Since we can’t get away, we might want to consider HeartMath’s emWave2, a self-tracking mobile device that offers the promise to help change the way we respond to stress.
We’ll be interested to get a closer look at the Wahoo Blue HR Bluetooth heart rate monitor that will be officially unveiled at next month’s Consumer Electronics Sow. It will reportedly connect with an iPhone 4S as well as other devices that are Bluetooth Smart (4.0) ready. 
The New Year is less than a week away, and the Consumer Electronics Show is just a week later. It is a time for many to think about a healthier lifestyle, and UnitedHealth Group will be at the Digital Health Summit at CES in Las Vegas to offer expert advice. 
There are apps to map your ride, and now there is an app for iOS to map your training. At next month’s Consumer Electronics Show attendees will get to see the new Cardio Mapper app, which can connect and read data from Bluetooth Smart (formerly Bluetooth 4.0) , and SmartHRM WiFi.
