Casio Mud Resistant Watch

Plenty of watches claim to be water resistant and shock proof, but the Casio G-Shock Mudman G9300-1 looks like it could be ready for the end of civilization, and promises to be the last watch ticking. It is water resistant, shock resistant and can endure mud. Lots of mud!

The internals are protected in a hard plastic and steel casing that makes it waterproof to 200 meters, so it can get wet, dirty and endure the outdoors about as well as any sports watch. It offers a digital compass, thermometer, moon graph, full auto calendar with 12/24 hour formats, and even features 1/100 second stopwatch. At $200 it is a true value, especially for the last watch you might need to buy.

Ass-tastic iPhone Bike Light

Having some sort of light is a good idea when riding a bike at night. But instead of buying yet one more gizmo, the team at Monocle have created an abrasion-resistant synthetic webbing that holds and iPhone and uses the handsets flash to blink through a red lens – thus transforming the handset into a bike light.

Monocle’s designers are now looking to raise funds to make this ass-tastic light a reality with a Kickstarter campaign. Video after the jump

Interbike 2012: Eyes in the Back of Your Bike

We’ve seen a few camera mounts that provide that “rear view” for riders and at last week’s Interbike trade show the Hindsight 35 was one that truly could turn heads – or rather keep riders from turning their heads.  This offers a seat post mounted digital camera that provides the view from behind as a handlebar mounted display allows riders to see with just a downward glance. Binoculars for Boaters

If the crew members watching for icebergs on the Titanic had the Fraser-Volpe Optics Mariner binoculars 100 years ago this past April 12 those 1514 people who went to a watery grave would have instead made it to New York City, and director James Cameron would likely have had to settle for making a movie about the Hindenburg instead!

Today cruise ships have modern radar to prevent tragedy – Italian cruise ship captains excluded – but for others having a pair of binoculars is still necessary, and should be a crucial part of equipment out on open water. Fraser-Volpe, which has supplied binoculars to the military for more than 30 years knows a thing or two about optics, and now have introduced a marine grade pair that are built for sea. Motor Board

Boosted Boards is looking to roll out what it claims to be the absolutely lightest electric vehicle on the planet, which isn’t much of a surprise as it is essentially a motorized skateboard. The company claims that it can hit speeds up to 20mph, and handle grades up to 15 percent. It can run six miles on a single charge, which could make it an option for daring commuters.

And it is still a true skateboard with serious bearings and other components – which help justify the $1,200 price point. The Boosted Board is currently looking at Kickstarter campaign to raise funds and get a boost to bring this thing out. Video after the jump
