Having an edge in golf is what the game is all about, but soon you might be able to wear that edge, or at least wear the new Sunice Edge collection of golf apparel, which promises a trimmer fit, sleek style and one packed with cool details.

The Sunice Edge is made of a range of garments that will let golfers get in the swing in layers. The outerwear is made from GORE-TEX with Paclite technology, delivering the lightest, most package of Gore’s waterproof membranes, whilst the mid-layers utilize Windstopper technology that lives up to its name. This offers breathability to offer comfort while blocking the wind for everyday play. Continue reading Sunice Looks to Get an Edge in Style

Golf Swing Camera

There are a seeming endless variety of wearable cameras, but when playing golf you want to keep your eyes on the ball and would rather have some way of recording your movement to know how to improve your swing. The Hammacher Schlemmer Golf Swing Recording Video Camera is such as device.

It is simple enough in that it sits on a three-foot monopod that features a turf spike, and allows for almost instant placement in the tee box or fairway without disrupting play. The actual camera on top features a wide-angle lens that can capture your entire swing when place just 10-feet way. Continue reading Golf Swing Camera

Nike Golf Looks to New Method Technology

If you can’t bring down the strokes in your game perhaps it is time to try a new method, or at least give Nike Golf’s Method technology a try on the green. The Nike Method Core Weighted putter is the newest edition to the Method-franchise and it utilizes fixed weights on the heels and sole of the putter to provide proper weighting by putter length.

This works to lower the center of gravity as well as to move the center of gravity away from the face. The idea is to solve the potential putting inconsistency to get the center of gravity lower than the ball, which enables the golfer to rise the putter on impact. The Nike Method technology further utilizes a milled face and Polymetal Grooves for more true and consistent rolls to keep the ball on target! Then gravity can do the rest.

Nextbelt is the Belt for Golfers

Sometimes the simple things are what people tend not to see or think about. That is sort of the idea of the Nextbelt, a belt designed to hold up a golfer’s pants but which has no holes. The Go-In! Golf series belt instead provides golfers with minimum adjustment by providing the wearer an adjustment pattern of ¼ inch as opposed to pin/buckle at every inch. This allows for a better fitting belt, and while it might not take strokes off the game, it will reportedly make for a bet fit for those getting in the swing of things. Video after the jump

Interbike 2012: Eyes on Cébé Eyewear

During our annual pilgrimage down to Las Vegas for Interbike, we had a chance to stop by the Bushnell Eyewear booth to checkout their current lineup. For those of you who are not familiar with the Bushnell Eyewear name, they are the parent company of Bolle and Serengetti – two high end eyewear lines. But it wasn’t the offerings under those two names that piqued our interest, it was a third name in the booth, Cébé, which caught our eye. Continue reading Interbike 2012: Eyes on Cébé Eyewear

These shoes are waterproof and flexible, and come with a 90 day comfort guarantee.

Since most courses probably won’t let you golf barefoot this might just be the next best thing.

What are the Olympics Missing?

Several news stories are making the rounds this week following the successful 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. The question this week is “what events are missing?”

Golf will make a return to the Olympics in Rio in 2012, and will be joined by rugby. Some online sites have noted a short list of events that would be welcome and include: Cricket, a game popular not only the U.K., but also in much of the former British Empire and Commonwealth; Baseball, which is of course as American as Cricket is English; Softball, which was a sport that was only recently removed from the games; Mixed Martial Arts, which seems like a stretch but is a growing sport worldwide; and the surreal Roller Derby, which could be another popular sport for women athletes. Personalize Your Golf Ball so Some Super Spy Doesn’t Ruin Your Game

Remember that scene in the film Goldfinger where James Bond switched golf balls with the villain on the course? Goldfinger cheated, but Bond switched the balls and in the end made his gold-loving nemesis look stupid. That’s because Goldfinger didn’t personalize his ball enough.

The Golf Ball Personalizer is a stainless-steel imprinting tool that allows golfers to affix up to three initials with a mere squeeze – something we think Oddjob could have easy handled. Continue reading Personalize Your Golf Ball so Some Super Spy Doesn’t Ruin Your Game

Adidas Looks For the Gold

This week we noted that Adidas had introduced a pair of lightweight golf shoes that seem based on its line of running shoes. But the company also apparently is looking for gold of sorts with shoes that will be worn by athletes competing at the Olympics – however it won’t be until the summer games in 2016.

Golf hasn’t been an official Olympic sport since the 1904 games in St. Louis. In the meantime Adidas has introduced the new Tour360 ATV golf shoes, which will be worn by athletes competing at this year’s Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Anne.

And this didn’t stop Adidas Golf from celebrating the return to the Olympics in the video below. Video after the jump

For golfers who don’t want to sacrifice style for performance, the new KM-007 could be just the thing for the green. The new Miura forged irons feature quality low-carbon steel that is forged into a raw shape and then CNC (computer-numeric controlled) milled to perfection. And the new putter even features the initials of company founder and chief designer Katsuhiro Miura. With that in mind we’d love to take a swing with it!

Adidas Ready to Tee Off With Golf Shoes

Adidas looks to go down the same path as Nike and it ends on the golf course. The shoe maker, known for lightweight and comfortable running shoes, has introduced a line of lightweight and comfortable golf shoes.

The Adidas Golf Crossflex take ultra light running shoes, added some waterproofing – while still allowing the shoes to breathe – and outfitted it with 96 “strategically-placed triangular traction lugs.” The result is a shoe that will be good on the course, offering plenty of traction along with comfort – and at a very good price.
