Earlier this week we noted that Casio has a limited edition G-Shock watch for those who want to add a little style to their wrists while on the go. Now Casio is offering a few more options with its G-Shock line, including connectivity to mobile smartphones.
The G-Shock GB-6900 series, which will arrive early this year, will feature Bluetooth LE connectivity and can be paired with select Android smartphones, including the upcoming NEC Medias LTE N-04D and NEC Medias PP N-0ID. This won’t unfortunately transform the rugged time pieces into fitness watches, but it will show incoming calls, emails and text messages on the display – something that can be handy while hiking, cycling or otherwise on the go.
The phones are set to arrive in Japan in March, and hopefully will arrive stateside soon after.

We’ll be interested to get a closer look at the Wahoo Blue HR Bluetooth heart rate monitor that will be officially unveiled at next month’s Consumer Electronics Sow. It will reportedly connect with an iPhone 4S as well as other devices that are Bluetooth Smart (4.0) ready. 
The Motorola MOTOACTV only was released back in October and already Motorola has offered an update. Not only that but last week the company even released a video to tell about the updates. Look for better battery life, new clock faces and a new stopwatch feature! 
Combo units are the new name of the game when it comes to getting back to nature. Why fill up that ultra light pack with more stuff than is needed, when a multi-purpose device will serve so much better.
