We’ve seen the Spot Wazee in the past but have to say this year’s model with the Lotus-inspired Chapman deep green paint job with gold stripe accents once again will turn heads. This city bike features a Gates carbon drive system with a Shimano Alfine 11-speed internally geared hub, so it can handle the mean streets and get you to work in style.

Add Some Juice and Go
There are times when an electric bike can come in handy, but for those who prefer simple pedal power buying an electric bike might seem a waste. Not only is there the added cost, but also the weight. However, the Rubbee could be just the thing.
This add on gizmo is being developed through a Kickstarter project, can turn (almost) any regular bike into an electric bike. This unique conversion kit features an integrated clamp mechanism that can be mounted on a bike in just a few seconds, while the innovative drive motor with an internal battery can help propel the bike for more than 25 miles without pedaling. Unlike other kits that can add as much as 15kg to the bike, this one weighs just 6.5kg (14 pounds), and it can fully recharge in just two hours. Video after the jump
Louis Garneau Sets Course With Aero Helmet
When hitting the road sometimes you want to feel like you could take flight and this is where “aero” helmets come into play. The LG Course Aero resembles a regular road-ready helmet, with large massive vents, but Louis Garneau maintains it has aerodynamic performance that can’t be beat.
The helmet was created through extensive research at the Canadian National Research Council’s low speed wind tunnel facility, while Computational Fluid Dynamics Software was called into play to create a superior aerodynamic performance.
It features in-mold construction, with integrated strap system that provides support and protection while still retaining its lightweight status. It offers evacuation channels to increase airflow and wick moisture away, while the Spiderlock PRO II provides a snug yet comfortable fit.

Gran Fondo Announced for the Holy City
While Jerusalem is a city rich with history and culture it will also be a cycle city on October 11, for the very first Italian-themed cycling event. The organizers of Italy’s Giro d’Italia will bring the Italian passion for cycling to the Holy City.
This will include three courses to choose from, (20 km, 85 km and 127 km), touring the history and archeology of Jerusalem: a long course of 127 km with 3,000 meters of vertical gain and a medium course of 85 km with 2,400 meters of vertical gain, both leading also to the mountains around the city, offering incredible vistas and challenges worthy of the Giro d’italia, including timed climbs (Gran Premio della Montagna or GPM) that are part of the experience, with awards given in each category. There will also be an urban 20 km route perfect for families, children and cyclists looking for a shorter route.
“We are very happy to have here in Jerusalem an event that is part of the international series Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia,” said Nir Barkat, Mayor of Jerusalem, adding “The Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Jerusalem will be for sure a great success, because we have a great location and a great route to make international participants happy to be here. Aero Up There
The Sky is truly the limit, and while this year’s Tour de France is in the rearview mirror you can now try to take flight with Kask’s new lightweight aero helmet. The Infinity was developed with Team Sky and ridden by the team at this year’s big show in France. It was on the head of Chris Froome when he pushed it to the limit in the two time trials and by the rest of the Sky riders in the team time trial.
The 270-gram helmet, which will be available in two sizes and three colors (for those who don’t like Sky’s blue) combines the aero advantages of Kask’s time trial helmets with the lightness and ventilation of its road racing helmets. The Infinity allows the rider to adjust the vents from open — providing maximum ventilation — to closed for maximum aerodynamics. The adjustment can be made while riding without removing the helmet.
The only downside is that it won’t arrive in the U.S. until January.
(Tre)Lock and Ride
Riding off road at night requires a good headlamp and fortunately the days of massive battery packs are a thing of the past. The new Trelock LS950 from Cantitoe Road offers six hours of full brightness of 70 lumens, but also features five power levels for those times when a little less light will still do the trick. This means up to 45 hours of run time in between charges.
It has a somewhat sinister look that kind of resembles the Alien from those Alien movies, but perhaps that will just creep out the competition. More importantly, the rechargeable light attaches tool free to a handlebar offering an easy set up and plenty of time. You do need time to sleep after all.
Flirty Cycling Pants
We know summer won’t last forever, which is why we’re already considering attire for that cooler weather. The Novara Flirt Pedal Pusher bike Capri pants from REI are ideal for those who want to ride as the weather cools down. These feature nylon/spandex blend with 2-way stretch that allows pants to move with riders, while moisture-wicking finish keeping the skin dry. These offer a perforated gel pad to provide cushion, while the fabric provides a UPF 50+ sun protection, because as the weather cools down the sun can still be bright in the sky.
Rand McNally Maps the Way
While the Rand McNally name likely evokes atlases and books, the company knows a thing or two about GPS as well. The Rand McNally Foris 850 is designed not to be read at a desk, but out on a trail or while on a bike. Out of the box it features more than five million miles of roads and trails preloaded onto the device.
These include trails in National and State parks and forests, rails-to-trails routes, and of course US street and contour maps. The rugged and waterproof Foris 850 features a three-inch anti-glare touchscreen, compass and altimeter. It runs on two AA batteries and it can go where the road or trail takes you.
