LG Takes the Eurobike Prize

At last week’s Eurobike trade show Canadian apparel maker Louis Garneau took home the Eurobike Award for its Course Speedzone Vest, which was designed by company founder and President Louis Garneau. The vest offers a new approach to outerwear layering in that it allows riders to access the jersey pocks and maintain that race numbers remain visible. We’ve been posting about Made in America items for nearly two years and in that time we’ve seen a lot of great items from across the country. This week concludes Made in America as a weekly Friday update, but we wi’ll still continue to report on American made products. In fact, we see so many products that deserve calling out that it just makes sense to do so outside of a weekly update.

We conclude the Friday cycle fittingly with KineticShift.com cycling jerseys that were made by Mt. Borah in Wisconsin. Eurobike Preview: Armor Up for the Trial

For those who go to the extreme on the off-road trails, Leatt will have you covered. The company is set to introduce a new line of protective clothing for 2013, which it will be showing at Eurobike later this month.

This will a new soft body that feature the company’s exclusive BraceOn Strap system that keeps the brace secure without the need for body straps. The 3DF is designed with three-dimensional impact foam used at common contact points, including shoulder, elbows, chest, back and hips. The foam reportedly can stay soft while riding, but hardens upon impact to disperse the force of the crash. Pennsylvania-Made Team USA Olympic Apparel on Display

While much was made about where the uniforms of Team USA were made in the recently concluded Olympic Games in London, the State Museum of Pennsylvania is responding with an exhibit of Team USA attire made in the Keystone State. The Museum is presenting an exhibit of Team USA gymnastics leotards made by Reading-based GK Elite Sportswear for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The Pennsylvania-made Olympic apparel will be on display in the museum’s ground floor lobby through Sunday, Sept. 9, which coincides with Harrisburg’s popular Gallery Walk event.
