Tactical Pants For More Than Just SWAT Teams

Today it might be hard to consider but blue jeans were originally just pants worn by cowboys and miners. But now it a fashion that is almost universal throughout the world. But tactical attire could give it run for its money. While this type of clothing has a military Specials Forces sort of look, it is also durable and comfortable.

And more and more it is less military looking and just more rugged looking. This includes the new 5.11 Tactical Taclite Pro pants, which are made from lightweight poly-cotton ripstop fabric complete with gusseted crotch to allow more range of motions than jeans typically provide. The pants feature pockets for magazines (not the reading type) but this is a good spot for a mobile phone, while cargo pockets ensure you can take just about anything you might need on a hike. Jacket in a Bag

The name Mac in a Sac – technically Mac in a Sac 2 Packaway Jacket – still has a better name than jacket in a bag, but either way you get the picture. This simple concept, which is exactly what it sounds like a basic polyester shell that can block wind and water, fits in a small bag, a.k.a. the “sac.” The 100 percent waterproof yet breathable fabric makes it ideal for having some protection from the elements.

LYCRA Talks Three Tiers of its Stretch Fabric

LYCRA has been around since 1958. Since then we’ve had time to see what a revolutionary material it is. The company that owns LYCRA just developed a three-tiered system for its fabrics: LYCRA SPORT, LYCRA SPORT BEAUTY and LYCRA SPORT ENERGY.

LYCRA SPORT is a fabric for active performance. LYCRA SPORT BEAUTY is a fabric that combines performance with beauty and style. LYCRA says this tier is for “looking in shape while getting in shape.” LYCRA SPORT ENERGY fabric is innovated for compression fabrics. This top tier will be used in high-intensity and high-energy-sports garments. We bet we’ll see this label on a lot of cycling and running shorts as more and more of that is getting the benefit of compression. Continue reading LYCRA Talks Three Tiers of its Stretch Fabric
