X Cube Marks the Spot

Golf-X-CubeImprove your swing with the Golf-X-Cube, a patent-pending training aid that can make the game on the fairway a little more enjoyable. It consists of a UV-resistant polyamide reinforced cube with a hole on the bottom to insert a tee to keep it in place.

The Golf-X-Cube sits between you and the ball as you practice your swing, and this can help with proper golf stance, as it guides you to hit the ball more consistently and straighter. The designers claim that in as little as 15 minutes you will see an improvement in your swing. X marks the spot.

Breakdown Shoes

01M-shoesMost shoes will break down in time, but the 01M shoes are designed to biodegrade in months. The Spanish-made footwear, which offers a true minimalist design that could be ideal for barefoot running when you still want some coverage on the feet, are made of a vegetable-based plastic material. This means when the shoes start to show wear they can go in the compost bin and won’t end up a landfill.

Going Backwards?

biXe-GearWith a free wheel you can pedal backwards and all you get is a ratchet sound. With a coaster brake pedaling backwards will stop you, and with a fixed gear pedaling backwards will stop you and could even have you go backwards. That is all fairly easy to follow.

biXe Italia had another idea, that would allow pedaling forward or backwards but where pedaling in either direction would still propel the rider forward. This isn’t so much about the bike but rather the gear system, which can take backward pedaling but still allow the chain and drivetrain to function as if the rider were pedaling normally. What’s the rational to this? According to the company this allows different muscle groups to be worked. Genius or confusing… you decide. Continue reading Going Backwards?

Mini Bike

Rocker-BMXThere has been a trend in cycling to provide bigger wheels and tires, but the Rocker Mini BMX goes the other direction. At first glance this looks like it might be a bike for a tyke, but it is actually for those who want to rock out BMX style. It features 10-inch pneumatic tires, full size saddle, full size pedals and 28/12 gearing. Big things do come in small packages. Video after the jump

Uber Cool

UberBudsThere are plenty of fitness headphones on the market, but MuseMini has delivered what it deems to be the cool UberBuds. These ultra-compact, wireless, tangle-free and Bluetooth 4.0 enabled earbuds allow users to experience music like they never have in a Bluetooth headset with powerful 6mm drivers.

The UberBuds can stream audio from any APTX/AAC compatible device from up to 30 feet away, and the UberBuds SignalROM feature allows the paired device to be anywhere near the body, whether in the user’s pocket or gym bag

These come with a lifetime warranty against sweat, but also feature ear cushions that hug the critical portion of the ear so these will offer a snug fit for those running, skating or riding. The UberBuds offer up to eight hours of play time on a single charge, so most users might give out long before the music stops.

Golf Sense Swings With New Features

GolfSenseZepp Labs has announced a major update to its mobile swing analyzer system, the GolfSense system, which features a wearable motion sensor along with a free mobile app. This helps golfers analyze and improve their golf swing.

The GolfSense 3.0 version features a SwingScore, which evaluates the quality of each swing based on personal goals; provides a Dashboard that identifies what golfers are doing well and what needs some work; and provides a Lab Reports that analyzes and tracks the trends throughout a session. Those reports can even be shared via social media including Facebook and Twitter. The GolfSense system also lets users isolated a single aspect of the wing via Focus Screens, while the app can track club head and head speed, plus backswing position and even help golfers achieve their ideal swing plane.

GolfSense 3 is available for download from the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or from Google Play for Android mobile devices for free. While this might not get you on the pro tour it might be enough to help you knock a few strokes off on the way to the green.
