Interbike 2011: MOTOREX Oil of Switzerland

The U.S. bicycle lube market has a number of well known brands – White Lightning, Tri-Flow and Pedros just to name a few have been around for years, but there is another player in the market that has a fairly deep line of products to offer cyclists. MOTOREX Oil of Switzerland is showcasing their extensive line of cycling lubricants, greases, cleaners, fork oils and brake fluids at Interbike this year.

MOTOREX is the largest independent oil refinery in Switzerland and have developed a line of cycling related products that are being marketed throughout the world. Their products are so well thought of that they are used by many factory cycling teams throughout the world including BMC who recently competed in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and helped place Cadel Evans on the top of the podium at the 2011 Tour de France.

A few MOTOREX products that caught our eyes:

Bike Wet Lube and Dry Lube
Wet and dry chain lube formulas have been around for years, but MOTOREX’s formulas have a unique feature. Both the Wet and Dry Lubes are compatible with the MOTOREX Easy Clean Degreaser which means that the lube can be applied right after degreasing. Most degreasers or general solvents need to dry completely before you lube because they will degrade the lube. Along with this feature, both the Wet and Dry formulas are bio-degradable and available as a drip bottle or aerosol can.

Racing Fork Oil
This ‘low friction’ shock oil is fully synthetic and is specially formulated for optimum absorption at all temperatures. The racing formula also protects against foaming and corrosion, plus has a maintenance pack for pro-longing the life of the gaskets and seals. The Racing Fork Oil is sold in one liter containers with available weights of 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 and 15. The handiest feature is the number of different weights available which allows the end user to fine tune their forks as desired.

Helmet Care Spray
This unique product is specifically designed for cleaning helmet liners, shells, pads, textiles, gear and shoes. Most protective gear can actually be damaged or destroyed if a solvent-based cleaner is used on them. The MOTOREX Helmet CARE Spray’s active foam removes contaminants in foam liners or fabrics by extracting and absorbing from deep inside. Along with being safe for pads and plastics, this product has also been determatologically tested and is safe on skin.

MOTOREX has developed many more products than we listed above for all sorts of industries. Being in business for over 90 years along with developing over 2,000 products and being Switzerland’s largest independent crude oil refinery, MOTOREX certainly has the experience and know how to offer the cycling community a quality line of products.
