Sun Powered Golf Carts

Golf courses are designed to actually offer little in the way of shade, which is what you’d expect with the fairway and the green. But it is also means that solar power should be a no brainer.

Apparently Coconut Creek-based SolarCarts has seen that solar power is a bright idea for the transportation used on the golf courses. The company is the designer and manufacturer of solar energy retrofits for golf cars, and this week announced the launch of The Sun Eagle, a solar roof that transforms electric golf carts into solar-powered hybrid carts.

The Sun Eagle is a solar energy solution that allows consumers to extend the range of the carts and prolong the lifetime of the batteries while reducing energy costs.

“There has never been a better time to adopt solar roofs with prices so low coupled with the fact that the entire golf industry is shifting to greener solutions,” says Jon LoBello, the Executive Vice President of Solar Carts. “We constructed this offer for golf cart owners who truly want to be green, but, until now, could not yet afford this type of solar technology. The summer special enables anyone with a green mindset or a sheer love for the environment an opportunity to get in on the ground floor and be a part of something special and impactful for the golf cart industry.”

And for those looking to upgrade to solar, the sun is indeed shining. The company will offer a summer special from June 1 to July 15.
