Jump for Fitness

The trampoline is back, at least to according to JumpSport Fitness. The company has two new models of a personal trampoline for exercising in place. The Model 220 and Model 250 each offer some innovation over the old springs used to add bounce to the trampoline. In both cases, the legs on the frames are curved, which makes the trampoline more stable and less likely to tip over if you land on it unevenly or step on or off to one side.

The second thing you’ll notice is that heavy duty elastic secures the trampoline’s platform with plastic buckles that are hidden under the platform. The EnduroLast 2 elastic cords make a much better transition to the frame than springs. The manufacturer says the EnduroLast offers a smooth, cushioned and exhilarating bounce.

Those are the similarities between the 220 and 250. The 220 model has a 4-inch Permatron skirt. This is an extension of the platform so you have a larger surface to bounce on. It overlaps with the elastic framework. The 250 ,model has 6-inch padded petal flaps that extend the center platform, which gives you room to step on and off the trampoline.

Trampolines lend themselves to cardio routines where you can burn calories and tone up. It offers benefits for the core muscles as well as other muscle groups. Exercise occurs in a less jarring way since you’re bouncing on a suspended platform. JumpSport Fitness has a number of workouts included on their fitness DVDs.
