Last fall at Interbike Action Wipes really saved us. Not only were the bins of the full body wipes a welcome site outside of the port-o-potties during demo days, the oversized wipes were welcome for other uses during the show.
When we got back to our hotel after a long day of riding bikes in the desert, we were in desperate need of a shower. That was when we discovered there was no hot water in the hotel. The layers of sweat, desert dust and maybe a little bike grease made the thought of going to bed and showering in the morning impossible. We didn’t even want to venture out to dinner before cleaning up. Then we remembered we had tucked a few Action Wipes in our gear bag. Smart thinking.
Action Wipes are the full-body wipes. You might think of them in a category of hand wipes, but you’d be mistaken. You might think a pack of baby wipes will do the trick when you need to clean yourself, but we think you may be wrong.
The wipes are free of sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrances or alcohol. They are made from plant-derived ingredients including tea tree oil and eucalyptus oils, which help clean and refresh.
The wipes are very generous in size (9″x10″), and made from a durable premium cloth. You almost feel bad when you’re done because it’s kind of big. They’re a great size for wiping down your whole body to freshen up after a long ride. The durable wipe can then be used to wipe down your bike or other gear to get a little more use.
Cleaning your gear is just one of the repurposing the wipes when you’re finished. The natural formulation of the liquid makes it safe for several purposes including wiping down fruit – or even carrying a few pieces of fruit. The website has several suggestions including using the Action wipes as napkins; checking wind direction; using as a dust or wind mask; or covering food to keep bugs off. The site also has some more humorous items on the list including stuffing with leaves to make a pillow; use as a Superman Cape; or fashioning the cloths as an ascot.
