Your phone is as essential an accessory for running as water, keys and a pair of sunglasses. Yet most smartphones today are a little too big and clunky to fit in the pocket of a pair of running shorts – if there’s even a pocket. The SportShell Convertible iPhone 4 and 4S Case from Marware is a multi-format case that clips into an armband to make it easy to bring the iPhone along on your run.
The SportShell is called a convertible case because it comes with two back plates that fit into the framework of a protective case made from 2mm thick polycarbonate. One back plate is smooth and streamlines the iPhone for everyday use where you’ll slip the phone into your pocket or purse. The alternate back has a rotatable belt clip, though the clip has more uses than simply clipping to the belt.
The clip rotates 360-degrees, so you can clip it in landscape or portrait. The clip also has an open position, which lets you use it as a stand in either landscape or portrait, and set it down on a surface. The clip is also essential for the armband. It snaps into the strap, then the rubbery armband is secured with Velcro so it stays in place while you run.
