FollowMe Bike Lets Kids Ride Connected Bike

There are a few specialized bikes that are designed to allow children to ride behind their parent’s bike – but these systems typically lack a true front wheel. This can actually make it harder for the child to keep balance and is reported at times to be somewhat disturbing for the child. Imagine how you’d feel riding without a front wheel.

The other issue is that the geometry can be affected depending on the size of the parent’s bike. And it also is impossible for the child to actually ride the tandem without mom or dad because again there is no front wheel!

This is why the Cyclesense FollowMe Tandem sounds like such a better solution as it attaches the child’s regular bike to the parent’s bike. Unlike other bike joiners it doesn’t utilize the seatpost and instead attaches at the hub level. This has the promise of a more stable ride with a lower center of gravity. It also means that a child can ride by him/herself at times, and get assistance from parents when needed.

This system still lifts the front wheel off the ground, but only a bit so it shouldn’t create any problems for the young rider. It can work with kids’ bike with 12- to 20-inch wheels. And for parents they don’t have to say, “stick close to me,” because instead they know the kids will follow closely with FollowMe.
