This week apparel maker Primal announced that it was expanding its bicycle advocacy support for 2012, with new sponsorship for the annual Alliance for Biking and Walking Leadership Retreat. This event, to be held in September, see advocacy leaders from around the country meet in Long Beach to discuss ways to develop practices and campaigns that advocate for pedestrians and cyclists.
The four-day retreat features workshops ranging from issues facing community bicycle organizations to advocate staffing concerns, as well as how to diversify the pedestrian and bicycling movements.
“Primal is pleased to be able to support and be a part of this Leadership Retreat, and we appreciate the importance of having a place and environment for leaders to evaluate and analyze the current and future plans of cycling and walking advocacy,” said Primal Founder Dave Edwards. “We know how critical these issues are to the future of this country, and are thankful for those leading the way to resolve the challenges we face.”
Primal’s sponsorship includes customer VIP jackets for all attendees and financial support totaling $25,000.
“Primal’s support of the Alliance for Biking & Walking is yet another sign of their commitment to advocacy,” said Jeff Miller, president and CEO of the Alliance. “Their Premier Sponsorship not only helps the Alliance strengthen state and local advocacy organizations, but their leaders will be styling with top-notch jackets.”
