Jonesin’ to Board

While many sports have seen the development of women-specific products this hasn’t always been the case, but now those ladies looking to hit the powder can do it on a board made just for them. Jones Snowboards, the brand behind professional big mountain boarder Jeremy Jones, has introduced a line of women’s snowboards for the 2012-2013 season. The line focuses on big mountain freeriding, powder and all-mountain versatility via three distinct boards, including a splitboard model.

“Since the first day Jones Snowboards hit shops I’ve been asked by the ladies, ’Where are the women’s boards?’” said Jeremy Jones. “We built Jones’ women’s boards to combine the characteristics and offering’s of the men’s line with the dimensions demanded by our team of amazing female freeriders.”

The boards will be on deck for next season, and will include:

The Mothership is an ash-wood topped beauty built for women who fiend for steep terrain and fast lines. Mellow Magne-Traction keeps the Mothership solid on ice, while the blunt nose, directional rocker and camber underfoot deliver the float and stability to bomb rowdy terrain.

Trail breaking, backcountry women will rejoice in the new Women’s Solution Splitboard. The Women’s Solution is the split version of the Mothership, built to handle anything the mountains throw at you – on the way up or down. Mellow Magne-Traction on both inner and outer edges deliver confidence when the conditions get icy. The blunt nose and early rise tip and tail keep the Solution afloat on even the deepest days.

The Twin Sister is the board for women who want to ride it all – pow, pillows, trees and the terrain park. The Twin Sister features a twin-profile, directional flex, CAMROCK tip and tail and traditional camber between the feet. Mellow Magne-Traction keeps the Twin Sister on edge and helps lock in every turn.
