Indoor Cycling To The Extreme

While winter hasn’t really arrived in gusto, it hasn’t exactly been the most ideal conditions for riding outside for much of the country. This has certainly been true for the Upper Midwest including Cleveland, Ohio and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And if you’ve spent any time on an exercise bike or trainer you know that riding without moving gets old – and this being March it is really old.

So we were very interested to hear about Ray’s Indoor Mountain Biking Park, which first opened in Cleveland a decade ago, and now has a Milwaukee location. Each offers ramps, bridges, banked curves, short climbs and even “trails” (albeit those are just painted on the cement floor). The new Milwaukee facility, which is 20 minutes north of the city’s downtown, makes excellent use of the space inside an old big-box retail building, and offers 110,000 square feet.

Certainly sounds like a better way to put in some miles if you’re stuck indoors.
