Vaude Puts Jeans on the Bike

We know it’s just not always practical to don a spandex outfit to get on the bike. If you’re headed to the store, office or café you might want a more casual look. German company Vaude has come out with a pair of rain-repellent bike pants that look like jeans.

The Homy Rain Pant from Vaude have the stitching and detail to emulate jeans, but with several performance features. The pants have full weather protection. The pants can be worn by themselves, or go over a pair of pants to protect them from weather and dirt. Vaude developed the textile in its environmentally-friendly line, and made the fabric from environmentally friendly material manufactured in accordance with the bluesign standard.

A warm mesh lining allows for air flow in the pants. On the outside, reflective details make sure you stay visible in the dark and in low-light situations. Homy rain pants have an adjustable cuff that makes it easier to get in and out of the paints. Additional stitching details, such as darts at the knees, make the pants more comfortable on the bike and in positions where your knees are bent and mobility is key.
